Ghana Pastor arrested for drugging and raping woman

The Ashaiman branch of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) has arrested a pastor from the Victory Power Ministry Church, for allegedly raping a 30 year old widow.

The 35 year-old pastor, William Addo, allegedly tricked and drugged the woman before raping her while working at the Atadika branch of the church in the Kpone-Kantamanso district.

According to Citi New’s Elvis Washington, the victim was raped when she honoured an invitation from the suspect (pastor) last year for special prayers to be conducted for her.

The victim was asked to bring a carton of Don Garcia wine to break a spiritual connection between herself and her late husband whose death was perceived as mysterious.

During the prayer session, the accused allegedly gave the widow three glasses of the wine and a bottle of oil to drink.

The liquid rendered her unconscious paving the way for the pastor to rape her.

According to the DOVSU Coordinator, ASP Bola, the suspect allegedly called a friend of the victim and asked her to take the victim to the hospital.

ASP Bola indicated that a medical examination conducted at the hospital showed that she had been sexually abused.
