Ugandan Pastor arrested for raping woman

Police is in custody of a Kampala pastor, William Muwanguzi, commonly known as pastor Kiwedde for conspiring to rape two women on Tuesday night.

The embattled pastor was arrested by police yesterday to answer charges of conspiring to rape the two women and by yesterday evening Kiwedde was still in police cells at CID headquarters in Kampala.

The deputy police spokesperson, Judith Nabakooba said that Kiwedde and three other men picked up the two women from MM Pub in Kabuusu and offered to take them to another location for a drink
However, the group is said to have stopped at undisclosed place in Mengo area where the pastor and one man left claiming to have gone to get drinks.

But it is reported that when the women got suspicious of the remaining two men, they tried to escape but only one woman managed to escape leaving the other being raped.

The escapee immediately rushed to Lugala police post and reported the incident claiming that though they did not know the other three men, they recognized pastor Kiwedde.

Pastor Kiwedde has in the past been implicated in other criminal cases of shooting and stealing a car which was recovered from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
