The pastor of a North Jackson homeless shelter has been arrested on two counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition after a three-month investigation by Jackson Township Police.
Police said Ronald Lee Pyles, Jr., 58, who operates Victory Harvest Ministries at 13243 Palmyra Road, is accused of assaulting a 20-year-old woman who was staying at the shelter on several occasions between October 2010 and March 2011.
A police report states that the woman reported the assaults to her guardian, who notified police. The woman is now living with a guardian in Youngstown, the report states.
Pyles is being held at the Mahoning County Jail pending his arraignment in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
The Jackson Police Department is asking anyone who may have been a victim of a similar incident to contact them at 330-538-3093.
