Christian man shoots wife eight times

The fingerprints of a certain religion are clearly visible. And think if this man was Muslim, it would be ALL OVER the news.

Michael Parson, accused of shooting his wife Adina Parson, a Sandy Springs attorney, eight times outside her apartment last month, was arrested around midnight Saturday near Tyler, Texas.

"Parson was arrested by the Texas Highway Patrol following a traffic stop just before midnight Saturday," said Capt. Steve Rose with Sandy Springs police. "He was taken into custody without incident."

On Friday Sandy Springs police issued arrest warrants for Parson, who is accused of shooting Adina Parson eight times, including three times in the head, around 11:45 p.m. on April 20.
Friends of 40-year-old Adina Parson have said Michael Parson was at Grady Memorial Hospital with other family members in the days following the shooting.

Police said he was drving the couple’s 2000 Green Honda Civic, when Texas police arrested him.
Adina Parson remained in critical but stable condition Friday at Grady. She has been unable to speak with investigators.

Outside the hospital Friday night, Adina Parson's aunt, Pam Dickerson, said the family was shocked to learn Michael Parson was believed responsible for the shooting.

"I'm going to offer some prayers to him and his family," Dickerson said. "I originally said somebody who did this to my niece had to be very full of pain. To give pain, you have to be in pain."
Though she remains in critical condition, Adina Parson is improving, the aunt said.
"She’s getting stronger each and every day," Dickerson said. "We are still praying for her complete recovery."

Close friends also expressed shock at the turn of events.
"My heart right now is broken," Lisa Childers, a friend of Adina Parson's, told the AJC in a phone interview Friday night. "I'm emotionally saddened right now. We're just praying that God will continue to watch over her."

Childers, the executive assistant to the pastor at Elizabeth Baptist Church, previously told the AJC that Adina Parson is known for her compassionate spirit and willingness to volunteer countless hours to the church.

Police have said Adina Parson, an attorney with the state Department of Public Health, was shot as she was leaving the Residences of Morgan Falls apartment, off Roswell Road.Investigators initially said her husband was not a suspect, but that recently changed, Rose said.
"It was a lot of work on the detectives' part," he said.

In the days following the shooting, friends and family members held two prayer vigils to honor the woman, with hopes that someone would come forward with more information for police.
Michael Parson will be charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and giving false statements in writing concealing the facts of a felony, Rose said on Friday. He is being held in the Van Zandt County Jail in Canton, Texas, Rose said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Sandy Springs police at 770-551-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
