Next is David's favorite verse, and our most refuted claim. Literally It's tiring to see Christians lying about the Quran, even when they CLEARLY KNOW they've been answered.
Anyways that verse is 9:29. A clear verse that speaks of an Islamic state.
Under an Islamic state non-Muslims have equal rights as Muslims. Free to work, go to school, go worship, and help develop the society like how the Islamic empire for over 1300 years did. They can be in the army, in the government and so forth.
Everyone in an Islamic country pays tax. Zakat for the Muslims and Jizya to the non-Muslims. Zakat is 2.5% of a Muslims wealth that needs to be paid. Both men and women have to give Zakat. Now for Jizya it is ONLY for mature men who are able to support themselves and their families. Women are exempt, so are Priests, the elderly, young, and the disabled/insane. Furthermore Jizya historically has only been 1 to 4 dinars per YEAR. When the Jizya is paid, the non-Muslims are given state protection (as well as the rights i listed above) and are forbidden to be drafted into the miliary (Jihad is compulsory for every Muslim in whichever way) unless they want to be in the armed forces.
Now, look here in the West. If I don't pay tax the government will fight me. They'll take my car away, my home, and even jail me or expel me. The same goes for in Islam.

9:29 Fight those who believe not in God nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which has been forbidden by God and His Apostle, nor acknowledge the religion of truth, [even if they are] of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
Some people have falsely concluded from verse 9:29, that Muslims are commanded to attack all non-Muslims until they pay money. In fact, such an interpretation is completely false and contradicts authentic Islamic teachings. Commenting on this verse, Shaykh Jalal Abualrub writes:
These Ayat (Quranic verses) stress the necessity of fighting against the People of the Scripture, but under what conditions? We previously established the fact that the Islamic State is not permitted to attack non-Muslims who are not hostile to Islam, who do not oppress Muslims, or try to convert Muslims by force from their religion, or expel them from their lands, or wage war against them, or prepare for attacks against them. If any of these offenses occurs, however, Muslims are permitted to defend themselves and protect their religion. Muslims are not permitted to attack non-Muslims who signed peace pacts with them, or non-Muslims who live under the protection of the Islamic State. (Abualrub, Holy Wars, Crusades, Jihad)
Likewise, the following fatwa points out that Muslims cannot attack a peaceful non-Muslim country:
Question: Is it an obligation of an Islamic state to attack the neighboring non-Muslim states and collect ‘jizya’ from them? Do we see this in the example of the rightly guided Caliphs who fought against the Roman and Persian Empires without any aggression initiating from them?
Answered by Sheikh Hânî al-Jubayr, judge at the Jeddah Supreme Court
If the non-Muslim country did not attack the Muslim one nor mobilize itself to prevent the practice and spread of Islam, nor transgress against mosques, nor work to oppress the Muslim people in their right to profess their faith and decry unbelief, then it is not for the Muslim country to attack that country. Jihâd of a military nature was only permitted to help Muslims defend their religion and remove oppression from the people.
The Persians and Romans did in fact aggress against Islam and attack the Muslims first.
The Chosroe of Persia had gone so far as to order his commander in Yemen specifically to kill the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Romans mobilized their forces to fight the Prophet (peace be upon him), and the Muslims confronted them in the Battles of Mu’tah and Tabûk during the Prophet's lifetime.
May Allah guide us all. And May peace and blessing be upon our Prophet Muhammad. (SOURCE, emphasis added)
The above fatwa refers to the historical context in which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) fought against other nations. The Prophet Muhammad did not initiate agression against anyone, rather he and his followers were under attack from all who sought to crush the new Islamic state. The first hostilities between the Muslims and the Roman empire began when the Prophet Muhammad's messenger to the Ghassan tribe (a governate of the Roman empire), Al-Harith bin Umayr Al-Azdi, was tied up and beheaded (Al-Mubarakpuri, Ar-Raheeq Al-Makhtum, p. 383). The killing of a diplomat was an open act of war, and the Prophet Muhammad sent an armed force to confront the tribe, but the Roman empire brought in reinforcements and the resulting conflict, known as the Battle of Mut'ah, was a defeat for the Muslims. Only after this did subsequent battles between the Muslims and the Roman Empire occur, and the Muslims emerged victorious. Likewise, as mentioned in the above fatwa, hostiltiies between the Muslims and the Persians only began after the Persian emperor Chosroe ordered his governor in Yemen Badham, to kill the Prophet Muhammad pbuh, although his efforts were thwarted when the latter accepted Islam. Other non-muslim groups, such as those in Madinah, also initiated hostilities against the Muslims despite peace treaties as Shaykh Sayyid Sabiq writes:
As for fighting the Jews (People of the Scripture), they had conducted a peace pact with the Messenger after he migrated to Madinah. Soon afterwards, they betrayed the peace pact and joined forces with the pagans and the hypocrites against Muslims. They also fought against Muslims during the Battle of A`hzab , then Allah revealed…[and he cites verse 9:29] (Sayyid Sabiq, Fiqhu as-Sunnah, Vol. 3, p. 80)
In light of the historical context of this verse, it becomes very clear that the verse was revealed in connection with agression initiated against Muslims. As Dr. Jamal Badawi very accurately concludes with regard to verse 9:29 and similar verses:
All of these verses, without exception, if studied carefully, address aggression and oppression committed against Muslims at the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), whether by idolatrous Arabs, some of the Jewish tribes in Madinah, or by some Christians. (SOURCE)
Therefore, the command to fight in verse 9:29 relates to those non-muslims who commit agression and not those who are committed to live in peace. The verse is subject to certain conditions that were apparent when it was implemented in the time of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh, as Shaykh Sayyid Sabiq writes:
What we have stated makes it clear that Islam did not allow the initiating of hostilities, except to: 1. repel aggression; 2. protect Islamic propagation; 3. deter Fitnah and oppression and ensure freedom of religion. In such cases, fighting becomes a necessity of the religion and one of its sacred ordainments. It is then called, ‘Jihad’. (Sayyid Sabiq, Fiqhu as-Sunnah, Vol. 3, p. 81)
The verse then proceeds to mention some issues relating to the Islamic state, and governing non-muslim citizens of the Islamic state. Dr. Maher Hathout comments on the regulations in verse 9:29:
Freedom of religion is an essential aspect in an Islamic state. One of the five pillars of Islam is zakat (almsgiving). The People of the Book (Christians and Jews) are not obliged to pay the Islamic zakat that is spent by the state for social necessities and state affairs as defined in the Quran (see 9:60). But they must pay other taxes to share in the state budget. If they refuse to pay this tax to the state and rebel against the state, then it is the obligation of the state to confront them until they pay it. This is what Caliph Abu Bakr did after the death of the Prophet, when some people refused to pay zakat. (Hathout, Jihad vs. Terrorism; US Multimedia Vera International, 2002, p.53)
The verse mentions Jizya, which is unfortunately misunderstood by some people. Like any nation, the Islamic government requires its citizens to pay taxes in return for its services. Since Muslims pay the Zakat, the non-muslim citizens are required to pay Jizya (for more information on Jizya, please refer to Jizya in Islam and Jizyah and non-muslim minorities). Dr. Monqiz As-Saqqar writes concerning the Jizya tax:
The sum of jizya was never large to the extent that the men were unable to pay. Rather, it was always available and reasonable. During the reign of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, jizya never exceeded one dinar annually and it never exceeded four dinars under the Umayyad rule. (SOURCE)
Shaykh Abu'l-Hasan Al-Mawardi (d. 1058CE) explicitly points out that the Jizya should be exacted in accordance with the means of the people, and the Imam should judge the conclude the amount to the satisfaction of the leaders of those being taxed:
The fuqaha (Jurists) differ as to the amount of the Jizya. Abu Hanifa considers that those subject to this tax are of three kinds: the rich from whom forty-eight dirhams are taken; those of average means from whom twenty four are taken, and the poor from whom twelve dirhams are taken: he thus stipulated the minimum and maximum amounts and prohibits any further judgement on behalf of those responsible for its collection. Malik, however, does not fix its minimum and maximum amount and considers that those responsible should make their own judgement as to the minimum and maximum. Ash-Shafi'i considers that the minimum is a dinar, and that it is not permitted to go below this while he does not stipulate the maximum, the latter being dependant on the ijtihad (judgement) of those responsible: the Imam, however, should try to harmonise between the different amounts, or to exact an amount in accordance with people's means. If he has used his judgement to conclude the contract od jizyah to the satisfaction of the leaders of the people being taxed, then it becomes binding on all of them and their descendants, generation after generation, and a leader may not afterwards change this amunt, be it to decrease it or increase it. (Al-Mawardi, al-Ahkam as-Sultaniyyah, Ta-Ha Publishers Ltd. 1996, pp. 209-210)
Hence, the laws of Islam forbid Muslims from opressing non-muslims and command them to treat others with justice and compassion. In fact, the Prophet Muhammad pbuh himself forbade Muslims from harming non-muslim citizens of an islamic state or any non-muslim with whom there was an agreement of peace, as he said,
"The one who wrongs a covenanter or impairs his right or overworks him or forcibly takes something from him, I will be his prosecutor on the Day of Judgment. (Sunan Abi Dawud 170/3 no. 3052, Sunan an-Nasa'i 25/8 no. 2749, and verified by Al-Albani no. 2626).
In conclusion, verse 9:29 commands Muslims to fight against only those who initiate agression as illustated by its historical context. Muslims may only fight under strict conditions, and are commanded to live peacefully with peaceful non-muslim neighbors.
The following verse David brought was 9:30 where the Jews called Uazir the son of god. See here: http://www.answering-christianity.com/quran/qb005.htm
Next David brings up verse 48:29. Sadly, David is an obvious rejecter of what early Muslims had to go through. During early Islam, muslims were under oppression of Pagans. Every "violent" (as in self defense) verse was directed at the Pagans. Actually you can see here a list of verses and hadiths concerning the fight against the Pagans who had a heavy hate of Muhammed (pbuh) and his people: http://www.load-islam.com/classified_list.php?topic_id=2&classified_id=9
So we already know Islam allows freedom of religion, equality, pluralism and warfare against those who declare war on you. Lets see a list of translations from Islam Awakened: http://www.islamawakened.com/quran/48/29/default.htm
The unbelievers and disbelievers are the ones who attack Muslims (phisically). Not that hard to understand.
Next David brought verse 98:6 which pretty much sums up if you don't believe n Islam you are not gonna enter heaven. Same with every religion in the world, especially Christianity. In my Part one rebuttal I brought cruel verses from the New Testement about non-Christians (like how we're called darkness, fiends of satan, scum, low life, and who can forget Matt 7:6 where we're caled dogs and pigs).
Lets analyze verse by verse (there's only 8 in this chapter)
98:1 It is inconceivable that those who are denying the Truth, whether they are among the People of the Scripture or the idolaters, could depart from their ways till the Clear Evidence reaches them. (The Qur'an liberates them from the shackles of their man-made dogmas and brings them from darkness to Light (7:157)).
98:2 A Messenger of Allah conveying to them the Purified Scrolls. (That are well-scored and well- written on parchment by honored scribes (52:2-3), (80:13-16)).
98:3 Wherein are Authoritative Scriptures.
98:4 Now the People of the Scripture had divided among themselves even when the Evidence of Truth had already come to them.
98:5 And they were commanded no more than to serve Allah, keeping religion pure for Him - turning away from all that is false, as men of reason upright. And to establish the Divine System, and set up the Just Economic Order of Zakat. For, that is the Perfect System of Life.
98:6 Verily, those who are bent on denying the Truth, be they among the People of the Scripture or the idol worshipers under any guise, will abide in Hell. They (who see the Truth and then deny it) are the worst of all created beings.
98:7 And behold, those who have chosen to be graced with belief, and do works that help others - it is they, they who are the best of all created beings.
98:8 Their reward is with their Lord - Gardens of Eden (of perpetual Bliss) underneath which rivers flow - to abide therein forever. Well-pleased is Allah with them and well-pleased are they with Him. All this awaits him who fears his Lord. (Knowing that his Lord's Law of Requital is a rock solid reality, he understands that all actions have their built-in recompense).
98:6 refers to those who ignored, changed God's laws and commands to suit their own lifestyles.
The Quran is filled with scientific and mathematical miracles. There is great amounts of a evidence Muhammed was a true Prophet of God. There were witnesses before and after him that could easily detect this man came to save them.
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
"We have sent you as a mercy to all mankind" [TMQ Al-Anbiya: 107]
(I suggest people read Martin Lings book "Muhammed". He (a Christian and Muslim scholar), who was a non-Muslim at the time, gave direct clues about the nature, habits and personality of the Prophet. I also recommend people listen to the commentary on this book b Hamza Yusuf, who only adds more understanding of the legacy and mercy of the Prophet that came to unite and guide mankind).
Next David brought a hadith. Once again, this has been answered here: http://muslim-responses.com/Fight_until_they_convert/Fight_until_you_convert_
A common hadith that missionary propagandists often bring up is the following one:
Bukhari Volume 1, Book 2, Number 24:
Narrated Ibn 'Umar:
Allah's Apostle said: "I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah's Apostle, and offer the prayers perfectly and give the obligatory charity, so if they perform a that, then they save their lives an property from me except for Islamic laws and then their reckoning (accounts) will be done by Allah."
The missionary will quote the following hadith and will happily proclaim ha! See! The prophet Muhammad was commanded to fight people until they converted to Islam, so Muslims must fight nonebelievers until they convert!
Now indeed if the world worked like that, then that would be a very good world for missionaries, it would mean that humans cease using their minds and brains.
Sadly for the missionaries (and very good for sane human beings of all creeds) the world does not work in such a fashion, rather we thinking humans who have a brain will sit back and say, hey, wait a minute, this person is quoting one Islamic text on its own, surely we must look at the context, and draw our conclusion from there!
Now FOR THE SAKE OF ARGUMENT (let us get this out of the way to just show how inconsistent these missionaries are) let us assume this is true, that Islam teaches Muslims to fight and force people to Islam, so what? It seems these missionaries forgot about their own Bible:
Whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:13)
That is straight from the Bible! So one must wonder from where these Christian missionaries are coming from! It's quite obvious what these missionaries are doing, they are following in the footsteps of their leader, Paul, who deployed deceiving as a prime tactic of preaching and trying to gain followers, for more on this specific topic visit the following article:
Glad to have gotten all of that out of the way! Now let us proceed to the topic at hand, and let us give the context. For starters anyone who studies about the religion of Islam will know that Islam teaches that people are not compelled or forced to join Islam, rather Islam teaches religious freedom:
Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things. (2:256)
So if they dispute with thee, say: "I have submitted My whole self to Allah and so have those who follow me." And say to the People of the Book and to those who are unlearned: "Do ye (also) submit yourselves?" If they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, Thy duty is to convey the Message; and in Allah's sight are (all) His servants. (3:20)
And an entire chapter devoted to religious freedom:
Say: O ye that reject Faith! I worship not that which ye worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. And I will not worship that which ye have been wont to worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. To you be your Way, and to me mine. (Surah 109)
So it is quite clear that Islam teaches religious tolerance, nobody is compelled to follow Islam, they can keep their way and religion, and the same for the Muslims. So in light of this one must therefore apply the Hadith to this context, one cannot simply ignore all these verses and then go on to conclude that Islam teaches forced conversion to Islam.
Now we move to the second part, and we go back to the Quran, because the above Hadith is very familiar to a Quranic passage, and the passage reads as follows:
And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah altogether and everywhere; but if they cease, verily Allah doth see all that they do. (8:39)
In the above passage Muslims are commanded to fight until there is no more oppression, till justice prevails, and when faith is in Allah. This is essentially the same message as the Hadith in slightly different wording, but the content is similar.
Now off course if we were as narrow minded as these missionaries are, then we too would have to conclude that 8:39 commands Muslims to fight until people have faith in Allah, meaning convert to Islam and submit to Allah. In fact that Islamophobic right wing racist bigot Geert Wilders brought this verse up in his Fitna documentary!
Now if anyone studies the context of 8:39 one will know that this verse was aimed at the Pagans, not only was this verse revealed against the Pagans, but the very same Pagans the Muslims were at war with! Basically this verse was revealed during a time of war between the Muslims and the Pagans, the very same Pagans who initiated the war, as the verse itself mentions, the Muslims are to fight them until there is no more OPPRESSION, and these Pagans were oppressing the Muslims.
So how does this all relate to the hadith in question? The reason why it relates to the hadith is because the Quranic verse is very similar to what the prophet said, and when one analyzes the Quran one will find that when it gave this specific ruling, it was revealed during a time of war, and revealed against the Pagan combatants! Hence we must apply this same standard to the Hadith in question!
And finally, Ibn Taymiyyah, a major Islamic scholar had this to say about the hadith in question:
"It refers to fighting those who are waging war, whom Allah has permitted us to fight. It does not refer to those who have a covenant with us with whom Allah commands us to fulfill our covenant." [Majmû` al-Fatâwâ (19/20)]
Hence in conclusion when you put all of this together you will see that the missionary has no case (as usual), and that the hadith in no way serves their argument, and in no way contradicts the religious freedom and tolerance enjoined by Islam.
And Allah Knows Best!
Next David brought another hadith, that the answer can be found here: http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/showthread.php?3856-Non-Muslims-in-an-Islamic-State
And then he brought another. Now when I searched this one up cause i've never seen it, i only got 5 results (on google). all christian sites, 3 from David's blog. So I'm assuming it's probably another one of those unreliable hadiths that falsely get attributed to Muhammed (pbuh). Oh, and lets not forget David's extreme obsession with false hadiths (hint hint why he blocked me).
And finally David rants on what Muhammed said about women.
Since you're a woman, I'm wondering how you deal with Muhammad's teachings about women. According to Muhammad, women are inferior to men, husbands can beat their wives into submission, women are stupid, men can have sex with prepubescent girls, men can have sex with up to four wives (along with countless sex slaves), etc. Do you agree with all of these teachings?
No clue what David's speaking of. Notice no sources. Davi'd trying to fool Danielle here into deception (of course it's part of Philippians 1:18 where Christians can lie and cheat for Christ). But I do know what the New Testement says about women. Funny thing David said Muhammed (pbuh) claimed women are stupid (false claim yet agin). But what about the Bible? From: http://answeringchristians.blogspot.com/2010/08/bible-says-women-are-mentally-deficient.html
A great article written by Bassan Zawadi, a writer at Answering Christianity. Here's his site, talking about how the bible totally degrades women: http://www.call-to-monotheism.com/deficiency_of_woman_s_mind_according_to_the_bible
Here is a verse from the New Testament talking about husbands and wives and the way they should treat each other...
1 Peter 3:7
"Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker (asthenes) partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers."
The word asthenes means...
1) weak, infirm, feeble
It usually refers to weakness in a physical sense. However, it could also refer to weakness in a mental sense as well...
1 Corinthians 8:7,10
"But not everyone knows this. Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat such food they think of it as having been sacrificed to an idol, and since their conscience is weak (asthenes), it is defiled.
For if anyone with a weak (asthenes) conscience sees you who have this knowledge eating in an idol's temple, won't he be emboldened to eat what has been sacrificed to idols?"
So does this mean that the wife is not only weaker physically but mentally as well? Well a well known commentator sure did think so...
and here "the weaker"; being so for the most part, both as to strength of body, and endowments of mind; (John Gills Exposition to the Bible, Commentary on 1 Peter 3:7)
From our other blog:http://christianwomenwatch.blogspot.com/
Submission to her Husband
Ephesians 5:24- Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
Ephesians 5:22-Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.
And lets look at some commentary by John Wesley, one of the greatest Christian scholars to ever live on this verse:
In the following directions concerning relative duties, the inferiors are all along placed before the superiors, because the general proposition is concerning submission; and inferiors ought to do their duty, whatever their superiors do. Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands - Unless where God forbids. Otherwise, in all indifferent things, the will of the husband is a law to the wife. As unto the Lord - The obedience a wife pays to her husband is at the same time paid to Christ himself; he being head of the wife, as Christ is head of the church.
Colossians 3:18- Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
1 Timothy 2:11- A woman should learn in quietness and full submission.
1 Corinthians 11:3 "Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God."
1 Corinthians 11:7 A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man."
1 Peter 3:6- Just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, and you have become her children if you do what is right without being frightened by any fear.
Leadership, Freedom of Expression and House Arrest
1 Timothy 2:12- I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.
1 Corinthians 7:1 - "Now for the matters you wrote about: It is good for a man not to marry.
Yeah just in case his wife doesn't worship or silently obey him like a dog.
1 Corinthians 7:1- Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman
Titus 2:3-5 - The aged women likewise, that [they be] in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands,
to love their children, [To be] discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient (hupotasso) to their own
husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Rebelling against your husband is an insult to god?
Marriage, Adultery and Divorce
Romans 7:2-3- For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law that binds her to him. So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress.
Even if the husband is abusive, she can't get away.
1 Corinthians 7:39- A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord
Of course so she can obey and submit to his ever wish as well.
Matthew 5:32- But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery
And now let's look at women in Islam. Before we look into the Quran and Hadith let's understand that the first convert to Islam was a woman, the first martyr in Islam was a woman, and the first scholar on Islam was a woman.
"O ye who believe! Ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should ye treat them with harshness, that ye may take away part of the dower ye have given them, except where they have been guilty of open lewdness; on the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing, and God brings about through it a great deal of good. (Quran, 4:19)"
The verse tell's men to listen to women, not treat them with harshness, live with them in kindness and honour (what equity means). Of course only the only women who deserve this are the one's who aren't slutty and show off their bodies (what the open lewd part means)
When ye have divorced women, and they have reached their term, then retain them in kindness or release them in kindness. Retain them not to their hurt so that ye transgress (the limits). He who doeth that hath wronged his soul. Make not the revelations of Allah a laughing-stock (by your behaviour), but remember Allah's grace upon you and that which He hath revealed unto you of the Scripture and of wisdom, whereby He doth exhort you. Observe your duty to Allah and know that Allah is Aware of all things. (Quran 2:231)
You shall allow them to live in the same home in which they lived with you, and do not make life so miserable for them that they leave on their own. If they are pregnant, you shall spend on them until they give birth. If they nurse the infant, you shall pay them for this service. You shall maintain the friendly relations among you. If you disagree, you may hire another woman to nurse the child. (Quran 65:6)
The 2 verses above speak of divorce. You have to either reconcile with the wife in kindness or let her leave in kindness. Divorced women are allowed to stay in their husbands houses until she is able to provide on her own or by her family or by her new husband. Men cannot keep women as revenge or hurt them or else they break the boundries and rules set by God.
Remember how woman in the Bible are forbidden to divorce? Well let's see what the Quran says:
If a couple fears separation, you shall appoint an arbitrator from his family and an arbitrator from her family; if they decide to reconcile, GOD will help them get together. GOD is Omniscient, Cognizant. (Quran 4:35)
"If a wife fears cruelty or desertion on her husband's part, there is no blame on them if they arrange a friendly settlement between themselves; and such settlement is best; even though men's souls are swayed by greed. But if ye do good and practise self-restraint, God is well-acquainted with all that ye do." (Quran 4:128)
The Quran tell's how husbands and wives SHOULD live:
Among His proofs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves, in order to have tranquility and contentment with each other, and He placed in your hearts love and care towards your spouses. In this, there are sufficient proofs for people who think. (Quran 30:21)
It is lawful for you to go in unto your wives during the night preceding the (day's) fast: they are as a garment for you, and you are as a garment for them. God is aware that you would have deprived yourselves of this right, and so He has turned unto you in His mercy and removed this hardship from you. Now, then, you may lie with them skin to skin, and avail yourselves to that which God has ordained for you. (Qur’an 2:187)
He created you from one person (Adam). Subsequently, He gives every man a mate to find tranquility with her. She then carries a light load that she can hardly notice. As the load gets heavier, they implore GOD their Lord: "If You give us a good baby, we will be appreciative." (Quran 7:189)
The following three verses speak of equality:
"O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other. Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well-acquainted." (Quran, 49:13)
Whoever works righteousness — whether male or female — while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and We shall pay them certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do (i.e. Paradise in the Hereafter)." (Quran 16:97)
"Lo! men who surrender unto Allah, and women who surrender, and men who believe and women who believe, and men who obey and women who obey, and men who speak the truth and women who speak the truth, and men who persevere (in righteousness) and women who persevere, and men who are humble and women who are humble, and men who give alms and women who give alms, and men who fast and women who fast, and men who guard their modesty and women who guard (their modesty), and men who remember Allah much and women who remember - Allah hath prepared for them forgiveness and a vast reward." (Quran 33:35)
A woman's privacy is to be protected. That is why God says:
"O prophet, tell your wives, your daughters, and the wives of the believers that they shall lengthen their garments. Thus, they will be recognized (as righteous women) and avoid being insulted. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful". (Quran 33:59)
There's alot more I can add but due to space left, I'll end with the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him)
"Paradise lies at the feet of the mother. "
Narrated Abu Huraira:
A man came to Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) and asked,
"O Allahs Apostle! Who is more entitled to be treated with the best companionship by me?"
The Prophet(PBUH) said, "Your mother." The man said. "Who is next?"
