Pastor charged with assault over property dispute

LADDONIA, MO. -- Update: Friday, Oct. 22 at 6:17 p.m.

Police are staying tight lipped about exactly what happened at the Laddonia Christian church.

Deputies arrested the pastor, Ryan Finley Price, 53, of Laddonia for first degree assault. They also arrested, Daniel Umstattd, 53, of Mexico for unlawful use of a weapon and assault.

Authorities haven't released the name of the 61-year-old man who was assaulted and life flighted to the university hospital in Columbia.

The sheriff's department report indicates the incident last night stemmed from a property dispute.

Price was charged with first degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. Price is being held on a $250,000 bond.

Two men were arrested and a third was transported to University Hospital after an incident Thursday night in Laddonia.

Audrain County Sheriff's Department officials said the incident happened at the Laddonia Christian Church in the 300 block of Chestnut Street.

Officials said initial reports indicated a man had been shot, but police said those reports were not true. Police said a 61-year-old male was assaulted and transported by air to the University Hospital in Columbia.

Police arrested Daniel Wayne Umstattd, 53, of Mexico, on an Audrain County warrant for unlawful use of a weapon and assault. He posted a $6,000 bond.

They also arrested Ryan Finley Price, 53, of Laddonia for assault in the first degree. Price is in the Audrain County Jail without bond.
