David Wood on Water Evaporation in the Quran

David decided to add this video, to his blog,, claiming Zakir Naik messed up on the water cycle in the Quran. Here's how David began:

Anyone ever noticed that when Zakir Naik answers a question, (1) he rarely answers the question, (2) he usually displays his awesome memory, without actually answering the question, and (3) Muslims love his answer and cheer him, despite the fact that he hasn't answered the questions? Whenever I hear people cheering for Naik, it's as if they're cheering for ignorance and deception! Anyway, here's one for the collection.

I haven't noticed. Next he gave a bunch of verses, which were also from Dr. Naik:

7:57--And He it is Who sends forth the winds bearing good news before His mercy, until, when they bring up a laden cloud, We drive it to a dead land, then We send down water on it, then bring forth with it of fruits of all kinds; thus shall We bring forth the dead that you may be mindful.

13:17--He sends down water from the cloud, then watercourses flow (with water) according to their measure, and the torrent bears along the swelling foam, and from what they melt in the fire for the sake of making ornaments or apparatus arises a scum like it; thus does Allah compare truth and falsehood; then as for the scum, it passes away as a worthless thing; and as for that which profits the people, it tarries in the earth; thus does Allah set forth parables.

15:22--And We send the winds fertilizing, then send down water from the cloud so We give it to you to drink of, nor is it you who store it up.

23:18--And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away.

24:43--Do you not see that Allah drives along the clouds, then gathers them together, then piles them up, so that you see the rain coming forth from their midst? And He sends down of the clouds that are (like) mountains wherein is hail, afflicting therewith whom He pleases and turning it away from whom He pleases; the flash of His lightning almost takes away the sight.

25:48-49--And He it is Who sends the winds as good news before His mercy; and We send down pure water from the cloud, That We may give life thereby to a dead land and give it for drink, out of what We have created, to cattle and many people.

30:24--And one of His signs is that He shows you the lightning for fear and for hope, and sends down water from the clouds then gives life therewith to the earth after its death; most surely there are signs in this for a people who understand

30:48--Allah is he Who sends forth the winds so they raise a cloud, then He spreads it forth in the sky as He pleases, and He breaks it up so that you see the rain coming forth from inside it; then when He causes it to fall upon whom He pleases of His servants, lo! they are joyful.

35:9--And Allah is He Who sends the winds so they raise a cloud, then We drive it on to a dead country, and therewith We give life to the earth after its death; even so is the quickening.

36:34--And We make therein gardens of palms and grapevines and We make springs to flow forth in it.

39:21--Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the cloud, then makes it go along in the earth in springs, then brings forth therewith herbage of various colors, then it withers so that you see it becoming yellow, then He makes it a thing crushed and broken into pieces? Most surely there is a reminder in this for the men of understanding.

45:5--And (in) the variation of the night and the day, and (in) what Allah sends down of sustenance from the cloud, then gives life thereby to the earth after its death, and (in) the changing of the winds, there are signs for a people who understand.

50:9--And We send down from the cloud water abounding in good, then We cause to grow thereby gardens and the grain that is reaped.

56:68-70--Have you considered the water which you drink? Is it you that send it down from the clouds, or are We the senders? If We pleased, We would have made it salty; why do you not then give thanks?

67:30--Say: Have you considered if your water should go down, who is it then that will bring you flowing water?

I'd like to go back to 23:18, where the last few words are bolded: "...surely We are able to carry it away". Well isn't this referring to evaporation of water? Here's a few other translations:

(23:18) "We send down from the sky water, in exact measure, then we store it in the ground. Certainly, we can let it escape."

(23:18) "We sent down water from the sky in measure and lodged it in the ground. And We certainly are able to withdraw it".

The translation above sums it up. Unless you can think of something else for "We are able to carry it away", "we can let it escape" or "able to withdraw" when speaking in the context of Water Evaporation.

David continues:

There you have it. Zakir Naik is asked where the Qur'an discusses water evaporation. He quotes a bunch of verses which say, in effect, "Rain comes from clouds" (which every civilization in history has known), he doesn't actually answer the question at all, and Muslims stand in awe at the non-existent miraculous scientific insights of the Qur'an! If I were a Muslim, I would be embarrassed by such deception. But it just doesn't seem to bother Muslims. As long as Dr. Naik is winning converts with his deception, Muslims will cheer him.

Of course, I could do this with the Bible (using passages such as the following, which are actually far more impressive than the passages quoted by Naik), but I'm not that desperate.

Job 36:26-28--Behold, God is exalted, and we do not know Him; the number of His years is unsearchable. For He draws up the drops of water, they distill rain from the mist, which the clouds pour down, they drip upon man abundantly.

Amos 5:8--He who made the Pleiades and Orion and changes deep darkness into morning, Who also darkens day into night, Who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out on the surface of the earth, the LORD is His name.

I don't really see how Amos 5:8 is related to evaporation. Anyways the answer was in verse 23:18 itself, which Dr. Zakir Naik presented and David missed.
I've noticed that Christians tend to attack the scientific verses in the Quran, even though right infront of us, scientists, mathematicians, physicians continue to embrace Islam. Could they be jealous that the unknown authors of the New Testement were creative about God magically coming down to earth, out of a 12 year old, then somehow dying for "sins", but not able to produce any such statements that catch the eye or provoke thoughts?

The Bahamas- The only country in the world where men can rape their wives

Oh yes and if we look at the demographics, in total the population is 95% Christian.

For all about rape in the bible, see here:

While the site is atheist, and I do not agree with some things, the point is about what is written in the bible.

Marital rape law 'is a human right'

A POWERFUL human rights group has thrown its weight behind the government's plan to outlaw marital rape in the Bahamas.

Amnesty International has vowed to back the proposed amendment of the Sexual Offences Act in order to protect the rights of every Bahamian woman.

A spokesman for the group told The Tribune: "Amnesty International would certainly support that law being passed.

"We view women's rights as a human right. If there is abuse in any kind of relationship, whether it is within a marriage or with unmarried couples, or in the case of incest, all of those are matters that need to be dealt with properly within the law.

"On the basic stance of the law, Amnesty would support the way it's written to support persons rights."

The amendment, introduced to the House of Assembly by Minister of State for Social Development Loretta Butler-Turner last month, has sparked a heated national debate on the issue.

In Parliament last month, Mrs Butler-Turner noted that the current law is outdated adding that spousal rape had long been outlawed in many other countries.

American law recognised marital rape as a crime in 1976 but it is still a sensitive issue as many states have lesser penalties for persons convicted of the offence, compared to acquaintance rape or that of a stranger.

The present law in the Bahamas defines rape as an act of any person not under 14 years of age having sex with another person who is not his spouse without the consent of that other person; without consent that had been extorted by threats or fear of bodily harm; with consent obtained by impersonating the spouse of the other person; or with consent obtained by false and fraudulent representations as to the nature and quality of the act.

The proposed amendment would omit the words "who is not his spouse" in essence making it illegal for any person to have sex with another without consent -- regardless if they are married or not.

Under the current law, rape can only occur in a marriage if the couple is legally separated.

Some local religious leaders have argued that a man cannot rape his wife claiming the Bible dictates that a wife must physically submit to her husband.

Controversial pastor Cedric Moss has vocally opposed the legislation claiming the amendment would create a "society of rapists." Citing the "word of God", Mr Moss argued that rape cannot be committed in marriage because the couple gave each other authority over the other's body and agreed to open-ended sexual consent in the marriage contract.

He argued that including spouses as potential rapists would contradict the sacrament of marriage.

"But can it be right to bring married people under such a law designed for unmarried people? No, and a thousand times, no! It is not right and it can never be right to bring all married couples under this definition of rape whereby moment by moment consent is required for every stage of every act of sexual intercourse.

"Each day you will be a potential rapist in your own home if you initiate sex with your wife without her consent," he told the Rotary Club of West Nassau earlier this month.

Other opponents believe the proposed change will devastate marriages and families in this country and say more discussion is needed before the amendment is signed into law.

Women's rights advocates hit back saying rape is rape and that a wife should have the right to tell her husband "No" to sex in order to defend herself from an abusive or promiscuous husband.

In its 2008 Human Rights Reports on the Bahamas, the United Nations noted that while rape is considered illegal in this country the current law does not address spousal rape.

"Violence against women continued to be a serious, widespread problem. The law prohibits domestic violence, and the government generally enforced the law. However, domestic violence laws do not provide penalties separate from other crimes of assault and battery and do not

effectively criminalize sexual violence within a marriage," said the report.

The report said that the RBPF dealt with 114 reported rapes last year, a decrease from 136 in 2007.

Pastor molests 15 year old girl

A Boynton Beach pastor was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on Thursday after he was accused of molesting a girl in 2007, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Dieugrand Jacques, 39, of Lake Worth, was charged with lewd or lascivious molestation. He is the pastor of the New Alliance Haitian Church in Boynton Beach.

His victim, a then 15-year-old Boynton Beach High school student, reported the incident to authorities on Aug. 21, 2008. A day prior, the victim and her boyfriend confronted Jacques, who denied the allegations.

Late Friday, Jacques was out of Palm Beach County Jail after posting $7,500 bail.

Assistant State Attorney Mary Ann Duggan had asked for $50,000, citing the seriousness of the allegation. She said Jacques had no previous arrests.

The alleged incident occurred on May 22, 2007, at the home of the pastor during a counseling session the girl sought after having problems with her boyfriend.

At the time, she had no concerns about going to his house because she assumed they would not be alone after Jacques told her he was going to pick up his wife and children. But the victim said she found herself alone with the pastor.

Jacques asked the girl about her sexual relationship with her boyfriend and asked her to sit on his lap and take off her pants.

He told her, "Don't worry. I do this to all of my girls," according to a Sheriff's Office report. The pastor then drove the girl home.

The victim told investigators that she had been trying to "deal with it and get over it and it hasn't been getting any better."

According to the report, investigators spoke to Jacques' wife, Yvrose Jacques, who said she was home when the victim visited and denied the allegations against her husband.

No deception was found in a voice stress test that Jacques took when asked about the molestation, according to the report.

Jacques, however, told investigators that he kissed the victim in front of her boyfriend to demonstrate what a "friendly kiss" was.

Another victim turned up, but the State Attorney's Office declined to prosecute lacking probable cause, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Teri Barbera said.

Pastor caught lying, Impersonating atheists

This is a year old. Came out a month before this blog started up. But the important thing is, the pastor is using Philipians 1:18, where you are commanded to spread FALSE MOTIVES for Christ, which includes lying.

Pastor caught for stealing condoms

The first court hearing of Leung's case was supposed to be on Friday but it was postponed upon the request of the defendant.

Hong Kong's Ming Bao reported that the prosecutor, defendant and Department of Justice were discussing a conditional discharge for Leung.

The case will be heard again Jan 11.

Rev Leung, who is well known in the Special Administrative Region for his outspoken views and opinion had earlier told the media that it was a misunderstanding.

Pastor's trying to bring back Christian laws into our lives

Priest caught for spending 17 000 Euros on "erotic pleasures"

Toledo, Spain - A Spanish Catholic priest has been sacked on suspicion of spending 17,000 euros (23,000 dollars) on erotic phone lines, websites and prostitutes, church and municipal officials said Tuesday.

The 27-year-old priest had been responsible for two villages near the central city of Toledo for nearly one year.

In February, he confessed publicly during mass that he had taken money belonging to local religious associations, pledging to settle the affair.

It was widely believed that the priest had spent the money on erotic activities, officials said.

The Toledo archbishop's office sacked the priest and was investigating the affair.

Pastor sentenced for aiding false tax returns

PORTLAND, OR – Maximo Garza, 47, of Vancouver, Washington, was sentenced to five months in prison today in U. S. District Court for Aiding the Preparation of a False Tax Return. Until last September Garza, was the pastor for Victory Outreach Church of Portland, a non-denominational church which has operated in Portland for over 15 years.

During the plea hearing before Judge Garr M. King in September, Garza admitted that he provided false expense invoices which purported to reflect public relations and other services provided by Victory Outreach Church, to William Thompson, who was then operating a mail order divorce service business using the name Hallwood, Inc. Thompson used the false invoices to take expense deductions on tax returns filed by Hallwood, Inc. in order to fraudulently reduce his tax liability. Thompson pled guilty to tax evasion and was sentenced to a prison term in 2007.

Between 2001 and 2003, Garza provided invoices reflecting a total of $735,441 in false business expenses which Thompson claimed on Hallwood, Inc. corporate tax returns. Thompson agreed to let Garza keep approximately 10% of the expense amounts. The false documents enabled Thompson, operating as Hallwood, Inc., to evade an estimated $220,345 in federal taxes. Garza also assisted Thompson in disguising the purchase of a Jaguar automobile using Thompson’s funds which had been deposited to one of the special Victory Outreach Church accounts.

In court documents filed by his lawyers, Garza stated that the Victory Outreach organization suspended him from senior pastoral duties for at least four months beginning in September 2009 and has restricted his financial responsibilities.

Mr. Garza will report to begin serving his sentence on March 22, 2010. He will also serve a period of one year of supervised release upon his release from prison. The case was investigated by the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lance Caldwell.

"God wants gays dead"- Another Christian model speaks

CARRIE Prejean isn't the only beauty queen open to expressing her objection to same-sex marriage.

Miss Beverly Hills 2010 Lauren Ashley is also speaking out in support of traditional nuptials, Fox News reported.

"The Bible says that marriage is between a man and a woman," Ms Ashley told Fox News.

"In Leviticus it says: 'If man lies with mankind as he would lie with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death and their blood shall be upon them.'

"The Bible is pretty black and white.

"I feel like God himself created mankind and he loves everyone, and he has the best for everyone.

"If he says that having sex with someone of your same gender is going to bring death upon you, that's a pretty stern warning, and he knows more than we do about life."

Ms Ashley, 23, will be representing Beverly Hills in the Miss California pageant in November.

Her statements mirror former Miss California Carrie Prejean's answer to a question about same-sex marriage in last year's Miss USA pageant.

At the time, Ms Prejean said her answer opposing same sex marriage cost her the title.

After the controversy, it emerged that Ms Prejean had made several solo sex tapes and posed for racy pictures that now circulate the internet.

More trouble?

But with the Miss California Pageant still months away, and Ms Ashley already echoing the views that got Ms Prejean in trouble last year, is she concerned that she may ruin her chances of taking home the tiara?

"That isn't really the issue," she said.

"I have a lot of friends that are gay, and ... I have a lot of friends who have different views, and we share our views together. There's no hate between me and anyone."

And according to the Miss California state director, Keith Lewis, a contestant's personal opinion should have no bearing on the result.

"The Miss California USA system has always had a place for an individual's thoughts and opinions when it comes to all sides of political issues," Mr Lewis told Pop Tarts.

"It is an organisation which empowers women, and everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.",23739,26767822-954,00.html

It was bound to happen!

Okay so many Christians attacked Muslims when the maker of the movie, "2012" decided not to show the kaaba being destroyed, and instead used the Jesus scripture in Brazil. Adding to the freedom of speech issue.

We've seen Christians complain about other religious scriptures being in popular places (like the Calgary Zoo and the hindu elephant) and their's not. We've seen Christians complain about Jesus appearing on shampoo bottles in a negative way (He was only wearing a towel, yet bloody statues of him are portrayed everywhere). It all goes back to the hypocrisy of freedom of speech.

Brazil's Catholic Church is suing Hollywood for using unauthorised images of Rio de Janeiro's famous Christ statue in its disaster movie 2012.

The city's archdiocese is demanding unspecified damages and interest from Columbia Pictures for showing the iconic landmark being destroyed in a worldwide apocalypse in the film that came out last year.

The archdiocese manages copyright issues related to the 40-metre statue which overlooks Rio with its arms outstretched.

Under Brazilian law, copyright resides in the author of a work until his death and is then passed on to his heirs or estate or successor entity for another 70 years.

Christ The Redeemer was created by Paul Landowski, a French artist of Polish descent, on commission from the Rio archdiocese and erected in 1931.

Landowski died in 1961, meaning the archdiocese holds copyright until 2032. The sculpture will then become part of the public domain.

Lawyer Claudine Dutra says the archdiocese allows use of images of the statue "in 99 per cent of cases".

But it turned down the film studio's request to show the statue being destroyed by a giant wave.

"The archdiocese refused the use of the religious symbol during pre-production of the movie, but Columbia Pictures did not respect the prohibition," Ms Dutra said.

Ms Dutra added that "many faithful have said they are shocked and offended by the images of the destruction of this sanctuary that the archdiocese wanted to preserve".

"We want Columbia Pictures to publicly declare that it did not intend to cause offence."

The statue is Brazil's most visited tourist monument, with 1.8 million visitors a year.

It is one of the best-known modern landmarks in the world, along with Paris's Eiffel Tower, Washington's White House and Sydney's Opera House.

Nonie Darwish: A true practicer of Philippians 1:18

For those who don't know, Paul in Philippians 1:18 ordered "false motives" to spread Christ (i.e lying, cheating, making up myths and fabricating truth). While nearly all Christians adhere to this, Nonie is one who uses this for every attack against the Islmic faith. I wrote an article on her, how she was being interviewed by a magazine, she was (on purpose) screwing around with Islamic history (like her big lie of women having more rights pre-islam).

Though thankfully many other sites have been tracking Nonie's idiocy. Like Loonwatch and their featured article about a fresh new set of lies and contradictions by Mr., sorry Ms Darwish.

Pastor wants to kill defecting church members

A Manzini pastor is alleged to have issued a hit list of former senior members of his church he accuses of having caused a mass exodus of followers by spreading unfounded allegations.
Among these are men of the cloth who have been very popular as right hand-men of the pastor, especially during revival services and other fund-raising ventures.

Christian Playboy star says she's a "Great Mum"

Canned Malaysian women gladly accept punishment. Say it's godd for their lifestyles.

Okay so remember all that hype about that Malayisan model who was "caught" drinking and sentenced to 6 strokes? Well we already know (the Muslims atleast) that the woman actualy turned herself in, because she "Respected the law". But this was from Maylaysian sources, in the West we had Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller claiming she was forced to accect the "Sharia" way of life. And I bet they said the same when 3 women (this time actually caught by authorities) were sentenced to cannings for pre-martial sex. Lets look:

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - Three Malaysians who became the first women to be caned under the country's Islamic laws said they "deserved" their punishment and that it would help stem sex outside marriage.

The three women were caned for having sex out of wedlock in a move that has angered human rights activists and some lawyers who say the punishments are illegal in this mainly Muslim country that runs parallel civil and Islamic justice systems.

"I deeply regret my actions as I should have married before having sex," the New Straits Times newspaper quoted one of the women who it said was aged 17, as saying in its Friday edition.

The newspaper did not reveal the womens' real names and a picture showed the three clad in traditional Malaysian dress and headscarves seated before reporters.

The 17-year old said that she had become pregnant and gone into labor while at school, losing the baby, and then had turned herself in to the authorities last December.

A second woman said she had to support her family after her father left home and had a three-year-old daughter out of wedlock. She said that she too turned herself in due to feelings of guilt.

All three women were caned on February 9 and the punishments were announced by Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein on Wednesday.

Hishammuddin said they were "carried out perfectly."

Now just imagine if the Christian west adopted something like this. Would there be less stress, depression and suicide for teens? Unfortunateley, since the New Testement is so ambiguous, the holy spirit wouldn't think twice in putting something that will violate their endless freedoms.

Pastor rapes 6 boys

A Forty-nine-year-old pastor of a Newcastle church yesterday pleaded guilty in the Pietermaritzburg High Court to six counts of rape .

Michael Hlongwa, who has two previous convictions for indecent assault, pleaded guilty to the rape of six young boys aged between nine and 12 years.

Holding his head in his hands as his plea was read into the record by his counsel, Hlongwa said that while his permanent home was in Pietermaritzburg with his wife and two daughters, he was an active member of the local church and took a keen interest in counselling members of the congregation.

The pastor at the church asked him to go to Newcastle to assist in resolving problems being experienced by the congregation.

He then moved to Newcastle in 2008 and was given free accommodation near the church.

His family remained in Pietermaritzburg.

Hlongwa then went into graphic detail about how during October 2008 to October last year, he lured six young boys to his home, in separate incidents and he raped them.

Hlongwa described how he would then pay the boys and promised bicycles in return for their silence.

He gave one young boy R5 after raping him, the court heard.

In some instances, Hlongwa admitted that he had persuaded the parents of these boys to allow them to spend the night with him, so that he could counsel them. Hlongwa raped some of the boys more than once.

In mitigation, Hlongwa's counsel, Kelvin Singh, argued that while this was a heinous crime, Hlongwa was currently receiving counselling from members of his church for his "problem".

"I believe that Hlongwa is a candidate for rehabilitation and has expressed remorse for his actions. While he should be removed from society for a long time, he should be afforded the opportunity to one day return a changed man," Singh said.

Hlongwa has a teaching qualification, but has never taught at a mainstream school.

His wife is a teacher in Pietermaritzburg.

Prosecutor Prettygirl Ngcobo said Hlongwa should be sent to jail for life.

"This was a trusted and respected member of the community and he betrayed them in the worst possible way," Ngcobo said.

She said the rape of a child was the most appalling and reprehensible abuse of power that a man could commit.

"These young boys and their parents have to now live with the trauma of what happened to them every day for the rest of their lives.

"One can only imagine what their futures will be like after enduring this terrible ordeal," Ngcobo said.

Hlongwa will be sentenced on February 1.

People in the public gallery of the courtroom expressed disgust and outrage at Hlongwa as he was led down to the holding cells.

Mosque Vandalized... with crosses spray painted all over

Investigation is underway about a vandalism attack on a mosque in Nashville, Tennessee, which, police say, appears to be part of an apparent hate crime campaign.

Police said the windows and walls of the mosque were spray-painted with terms like "Muslims Go Home", The Tennessean reported.

Salaad Nur, a board member at the mosque, said the individuals behind the vandalism also left a note containing a message laden with hate-speech and expletives.

Nashville Metro Police Sgt. Brooks Harris said that the state and federal authorities will help investigate the vandalism.

"The key issue is, we're really looking at this together with our state and federal partners and doing everything we can to get to the bottom of this, prevent it, and if there's a solvability factor, we'll find it," Harris told The Tennessean.§ionid=3510203

British Pastor: Women should be silent, Submit to husbands

I've written an article on how the bible clearly says a wife needs to see her husband as God. And we clearly see pastor's whole heartedly agree.

Ephesians 5:24- Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit (i.e WORSHIP) to their husbands in everything.

Ephesians 5:22-Wives, submit to your husbands (i.e WORSHIP) as to the Lord.

Colossians 3:18- Wives, submit (i.e WORSHIP) to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

1 Corinthians 11:7 A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man

Church of England reverend Angus MacLeay issued a leaflet to churchgoers saying that women should not speak if questions could be answered by their husbands.

The leaflet, entitled The Role of Women in the Local Church, adds that wives should "submit to their husbands in everything."

It continues, "Wives are to submit to their husbands in everything in recognition of the fact that husbands are head of the family as Christ is head of the church.

"This is the way God has ordered their relationships with each other and Christian marriage cannot function well without it."

Dozens of women canceled their membership at St. Nicholas Church in Kent, England, where married MacLeay is rector after the leaflet was handed out.

Last Sunday, the curate at the same church delivered a medieval-style sermon called Marriage and Women, telling women to submit to their husbands to make marriage work.

Reverend Mark Oden, a married father-of-three, told the congregation, "We know marriage is not working.

"We only need to look at figures - one in four children has divorced parents. Wives, submit to your own husbands."

During the sermon, Rev. Oden also blamed "modern woman" for the high divorce rates in the U.K.

Yes, the ones who want to escape biblical teachings.

One female member of the church said she was "disgusted" by the sermon and will no longer be attending that church, adding, "How can they talk that way in the 21st Century?

"No wonder the church is losing touch if this is the kind of gobbledegook they want us to believe in.",2933,585762,00.html?test=latestnews

See the women complaining how this shouldn't exist in the 21st century, obviously have no clue what the bible preaches. Not even those liberal christians, who try to work things around the biblical scripures, can say anything about this. Paul was very clear about women in christianity.

Preacher rapes a woman for a whole week

A "REMORSELESS" Wembley preacher who punished a woman by raping her on seven consecutive days was jailed on Friday.

Paul Robin Denton, 46, of Barn Hill, was handed a 12 year sentence after repeatedly abusing his 32-year-old victim in October 2007.

He was found guilty after a trial at Inner London Crown Court when jurors heard how the religious fanatic put the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, through “hell on earth”.

She told the court Denton believed women should be submissive to their husbands and to Jesus “because the scripture says so”.

When she challenged his views, Denton, who changed his name to Lord Denton, repeatedly punched her in the face, head-butted her, pulled out her hair, and raped her “day after day” as a punishment.

DC Jon Wedger said: “The level of abuse and the time period it has been spread over has had an overwhelming impact on the victim. Denton has shown no remorse for his actions even making her go through the ordeal of the trial.

“I hope knowing that he has been held accountable for his actions will go someway to helping his victim come to terms with what has happened and allow her to move forward with her life.

“She has shown incredible bravery throughout the criminal proceedings and I hope that strength continues as she rebuilds her life.”

He was arrested in February 2008 but while on bail he sneaked into his victim's house and stole her hat.

He then sent it back to her in an effort to intimidate her.

He was found guilty of seven counts of rape, four of assault and one of witness intimidation

Yes it is true, the New Testement, over and over (like ephesians 5:22, 1 peter 3:6, some other verses on corinthians etc), tells a wife's submission to her husband is that of equal to the submission of God.

Missionary kidnapper weeps because she can't lay her hands on any Haiti orphans

BOISE (AP) — In the days after the Haiti earthquake, Laura Silsby, now under arrest in Haiti with nine other missionaries, made a series of calls around the country to mobilize a trip to rescue orphaned children from the disaster.
She enlisted members of her Baptist church and told them she had all the necessary paperwork. She even found a Kentucky couple, Richard and Malinda Pickett, who had been trying to adopt three siblings from Haiti and told them she could get the children out.

The Picketts say they politely declined, figuring the youngsters were safe and would soon be evacuated to their new home.

"My wife told her that under no conditions should she try to move the kids — that would just interfere with our plans. But she called two more times, and the last time she called, on the 25th, she said she was getting on a flight and would like to pick up our kids," Richard Pickett said. "My wife, for the third time, told her no way — stay away from them."

She still tried to take the children in Haiti and when the orphanage told her the children had been moved, Silsby went on to ask for any other kids she could have, Richard Pickett said. She paid a worker to take her to other orphanages in the region and translate for her.

"She asked for kids at each of the orphanages, and at the end of the day when no one would give her any, she cried," Richard Pickett said. "Why would you cry after you see these kids are being taken care of?"

A few days later, Silsby and nine other Americans were charged in Haiti with kidnapping for trying to take 33 children out of the country without proper documentation. The 10 defendants remain in jail in Haiti.

The Haitian and U.S. governments are investigating Silsby and her group, trying to determine why they were rounding up children, many of whom were not orphans. Silsby and her supporters say they just wanted to save youngsters from the chaos, disease and uncertainty of quake-ravaged Haiti.

Others, like the Picketts, aren't convinced.

A closer look at Silsby shows that the adoption fiasco followed a certain pattern seen in her life. The 40-year-old businesswoman and mother of three has been known to make big promises and big plans that often give way to questionable behavior and legal action.

Court records show she has a habit of failing to pay employees, creditors and taxes. In the last year alone saw her home go into foreclosure and watched a number of legal proceedings against her and her business wend their way through Idaho's courts.

All of this happened as she became highly passionate about helping kids in the Dominican Republic, according to those who know her.

"She had explained that she felt absolutely driven in her heart to open an orphanage in the Dominican Republic," said Nancy Batteen, owner of a children's second-hand clothing store in Boise where Silsby shopped.

Silsby showed her knack for achievement early, earning a high school diploma at 15, according to an old news release from her company. She went on to study business administration and accounting at Washington State University, graduating summa cum laude in 1991.

She took a job with Hewlett Packard in Boise, working for six years in financing and Internet marketing positions.

In 2000, Silsby and a man named James Hammons patented a method for creating and operating a personalized Internet store. She used the method to found a company that would do business under the name Avenue Me. The goal, Silsby told associates, was to create an online personalized shopping experience for those too busy to dig through several stores or websites.

She hired Boise multimedia marketing company Wirestone to build her website, but soon stopped paying the bills, said Mark Salow, a former Wirestone manager. Wirestone ultimately sued after Silsby fell tens of thousands of dollars behind in paying for the work, Salow said.

"She was always telling us, 'We had this great meeting, and you'll be paid soon,'" Salow said. "There was always some investor that was going to come in and save the day."

Those promises didn't sway a judge, who ruled in Wirestone's favor. The business seized computers and office furniture from Avenue Me to settle the debt in a pennies-on-the-dollar deal.

In 2004, Silsby filed for divorce from her husband, Terry Silsby. The divorce became final in 2007, but the two sides are still fighting in court.

In 2008, she bought a newly built five-bedroom home on a half-acre lot in Meridian — which the bank foreclosed on last December.

At the same time, several employees of her company — now called Personal Shopper after a trademark dispute — were filing claims against Silsby over unpaid wages. One former employee, Robin Oliver, said she was hired for $110,000 a year and sued after Silsby fell five paychecks behind.

Christian Professor goes on a shooting rampage

Well she has a Christian name. I wonder if Robert Spencer or Pamela Geller would mind?

A 42-year-old biology professor went on a shooting spree at the University of Alabama. The spree was someone strange in that is was a woman and she seemed in denial that she had done it. Amy Bishop shot six people killing three immediately. The reason that Amy Bishop may have performed the act may have been due to a disagreement over tenure. The shooting took place during a faculty meeting.

Kristin M. Hall, an Associated Press writer has posted an article titled "Prof. charged in 3 fatal shootings on Ala. campus."

Various assessments of Professor Bishop came from the students who had her in class. Some classified her as a "caring and funny" teacher while she was referred to as "very weird" and "a really big nerd."

There is a man involved referred to as a "person of interest."

Bishop was acknowledged as brilliant and along with her husband had made breakthrough discoveries. She came from Harvard

Part of the problem seems to have been that she wasn't as good of a teacher as a researcher.

Students had complained about her teaching methods to authorities. She was opaque about how to study and asked "ridiculous" questions on her tests.

To perhaps verify the reason for the shooting, Sammie Lee Davis, husband of one of those killed, Maria Ragland Davis, said the meeting was indeed about Bishop's tenure.

Surrealistically, Bishop could be heard as she was being led away as saying "It didn't happen. There's no way...They are still alive."

Bishop has been charged so far with one count of capital murder for which she could receive the death penalty.

The theories so far suggest that in Bishop's state of mind she felt persecuted and/or paranoid.

It is a fact that often very smart researchers are not great communicators.

Christian principal cuts off Hindu boy's pigtail

Yep, christans believe they can bring in their faith and forcefully impose it on other people.

The principal of a Mumbai [ Images ] convent school allegedly chopped off a student's small pigtail on Tuesday, prompting the police to file an FIR against him.

Frank Fernandes, principal of St Jude's High School in suburban Andheri, has been charged with hurting the religious sentiments of a community in the FIR filed by the police after a complaint from the mother of the student, Pravesh Dubey.

"We are gathering evidence against the principal before arresting him," said S R Dhanedhar, Senior Inspector of Sakinaka police station.

According to police, the plait of the 14-year-old eighth class student was cut with a pair of scissors by Fernandes in his cabin.

"The principal had asked Pravesh, a Brahmin, several times to get his pigtail cut as the school rules do not allow such things," said Dhanedhar.

"When the boy went to his cabin for some work today, the principal seeing the pigtail got agitated. He took a pair of scissors and chopped it off," he said.

Learning about the incident, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal activists protested near the police station demanding action against the principal.

Subsequently, the principal was booked under sections 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings or beliefs) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.

Pastor beats 2 church members

LUNDZI — A pastor at Revival Life Ministry heavily assaulted two church members after he caught them drinking alcohol during his church service.

The incident happened at around 7pm during a two week revival held at an area called Eluhlandlweni near the Lundzi Border Post.
As a result of the beating, one of the church goers Dan Dlamini claims to be partially deaf on his left ear. Dlamini said pastor Sam Dlamini, who is a junior pastor at the church, found him and his friend Musa Ndwandwe carrying a two litre bottle of dry white wine known as Capenheimer.

Dlamini said the pastor first took the bottle of wine from them and walked outside the tent where the revivals were held and emptied its contents.
Dlamini said the pastor used a knobkerrie and he beat both him and Ndwandwe on the head several times. Ndwandwe was reported to be away at work during the Times visit to the area.

Ndwandwe, it is alleged, lost consciousness for about 30 minutes whilst Dlamini said he lost consciousness for almost five minutes.
Both suffered injuries to the head, but they allege that although police and an ambulance were called none of them turned up. A church member Nomsa Sibandze who witnessed the incident said church members were shocked by the incident.

“We never thought a man of God would do this to us especially since we did not provoke him,” said Dlamini. He admits that they were wrong in bringing alcohol to the church, but said they were not regular church attendants of the Revival Life Ministry.
“We were tempted to go inside the tent as we heard the sound of musical instruments and we were drawn by the music,” said Dlamini a self employed logger.

Dlamini said their intention was not to drink inside the church, but only took out the bottle to put it safely as it was too big to hide inside their jackets.
Normal church services are usually held at a homestead which is a few metres from where the tent had been erected.
Dlamini said he was further shocked by the pastor’s reaction as he was junior in the church.
“This should have annoyed Pastor Bandzile Tsabedze who is the senior pastor not Sam,” he said. Dlamini (34) during the interview kept on referring to his alleged assailant as lomfana (the boy) because he said that he was younger than him. Dlamini who was in the company of his son and mother during the interview said he now needed money to go to the hospital for tests.
“I need to conduct an x-ray to see if I did not sustain any head injuries and the deafness to my left ear is worrying me,” he said.

Gee, what faith was tells its follwers to get drunk? Oh yes, Christianity.

Pastor charged with sexually abusing foster teens

CRESCENT — A pastor charged with sexually abusing children said his congregation is supporting him and he has no plans to leave the church.

Edwin House, 71, was charged last week in Logan County District Court with five counts of lewd molestation. House and his wife, Lovenia, 64, ran a foster home for 25 years. She is charged with child neglect.

Both were arrested at home Dec. 30 and were released on bail Dec. 31.

Edwin House is accused of sexually abusing two 14-year-old girls in his home. Lovenia House is accused of not doing enough to protect the children.

One of the girls attempted suicide in July by overdosing on pills, court affidavits state. She told counselors she was molested by Edwin House and was depressed. She said the abuse started when she was 7, with the latest incident occurring when she was 9.

She told investigators Edwin House laid on top of her while she was sleeping and put his hand down her shirt. He also put his hands on her chest while she was in his car, she reported.

The girl was removed from the home and taken into protective custody, court records show.

Lovenia House told investigators her husband touched the girl’s chest to teach her how boys might act if she continued to dress provocatively.

A female foster child who lived with the couple from November 2003 to December 2004 told investigators Edwin House would lay on top of her after he tucked her into bed at night.

HIV Positive Pastor charged with sexual abuse of a minor

This is a year old. I missed it since it came out a few months before this blog started up.

A central Kentucky-based pastor has admitted to having unprotected sex with a 15-year-old and not disclosing his HIV-positive status to the minor, MSNBC reports.

According to the article, 47-year-old James H. Bell was arrested December 30 after going to the Shelby County Detention Center and telling police that he had sex with the juvenile “on multiple occasions” in 2007. An arrest citation says that the pastor of Refuge Temple Church of God in Christ never told the minor he was HIV positive.

Bell is charged with sexual abuse, wanton endangerment and third-degree sodomy. He remained in jail on Tuesday, January 6, on a $50,000 bond

Pastor charged with child molestation, and conspiracy to commit murder

Johnson County - A former youth pastor facing child molestation charges has now been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Jonathan Hartman is accused of having sex with three teen girls at the Salvation Army Church in Greenwood. One of the girls came forward last year saying she was pregnant.

A Franklin judge entered a not guilty plea for Hartman Tuesday.

On Thursday, Johnson County prosecutor Brad Cooper formally charged Hartman with conspiracy to commit murder, a Class A felony.

Hartman is accused of approaching a fellow inmate and asking the inmate to kill the witnesses in the case against Hartman. The inmate told the Johnson County prosecutor's office, who informed the sheriff.

The new charges against Hartman follow a month-long investigation. Hartman is also accused of trying to arrange the killing of the child of one of the witnesses which Hartman believed to be his.

The prosecutor says Hartman allegedly arranged for a friend to release a gun to the co-conspirator inmate on his release. The gun was to be used in the killings and serve as a down payment for the killings. Hartman is also accused of offering to pay $50,000 to the co-conspirator upon completion of the killings.

Hartman remains in jail while he awaits trial on the sex misconduct cases. He's being held without bond in the Johnson County Jail.

Pastor charged with having a relationship with a 14 year old

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- A youth minister in Overland Park is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old girl.

Wayne Huston, 45, was charged with taking indecent liberties with a child. He was a youth pastor at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, but was recently let go.

The girl's mother told police that she found inappropriate text messages on her daughter's phone.

The pastor had been counseling the girl at her home.

"None of these incidents happened at this church. They did happen at the girl's house and at the man's house," Officer Jim Weaver said.

Neighbors said they were shocked to hear of the accusations against Huston.

"I just met him a month ago when he was helping push our car out of the snow, and he seemed like a really upstanding, nice guy. We were going to go give him a gift certificate to say thank you," one neighbor told KMBC.

Huston is only charged with crimes against one girl.

Pastor charged with sexual assault

And the trend of pastors raping/killing/abusing/assaulting never ends.

A South Jersey pastor was being held at the Camden County Jail tonight on $200,000 bail after being charged with sexually assaulting an under-aged girl, authorities said.

Gregor George Woodruff, 61, the pastor of the Ewan United Methodist Church in Mullica Hill, allegedly assaulted the girl "on numerous occasions" during the last two years, said Jason Laughlin, spokesman for the Camden County Prosecutor's office.

Woodruff, of Gloucester City, was arrested Friday at the Kennedy Health System Crisis Center and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault, three counts of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, Laughlin said.

Laughlin said it was the policy of the prosecutor's office not to release any information that might identify the girl, including her age, hometown or how she knew Woodruff.

Anyone with information that might aid the investigation is asked to call Investigator Amy Pisano 856-225-8400 or Gloucester City detectives at 856-456-7797.

Pastor rapes his own daughter

Absolutely disgusting.

WILLIAMSON — A Mingo County elementary teacher, coach and pastor, waived his right to a preliminary hearing yesterday regarding charges of sexual abuse by a parent and incest.

Johnny Ray Dempsey was arrested on Friday, Jan. 22, by Mingo County Sheriff’s deputies for inappropriate contact with his 14-year-old juvenile daughter in June 2009, according to public records.

At the time of the crime, Dempsey was a teacher at Kermit K-8 and Tug Valley High School and a pastor at Grace Truth Bible Center, located at Boy Scout Hollow.

Dempsey was arraigned in Mingo County Magistrate Court and placed in the Southwestern Regional Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.

The case will now go to the Mingo County Grand Jury, who will decide if the case warrants an indictment.

A Swiss anti-Islamic politician embraces Islam

RENOWNED Swiss politician Daniel Streich, who rose to fame for his campaign against minarets of mosques, has embraced Islam.
A member of the Swiss People’s Party (SVP) and a well-known politician, Daniel Streich was the first man who had launched a drive for imposition of ban on mosques minarets, and to lock the mosques in Switzerland. The proclamation of Streich’s conversion to Islam has created furore in Swiss politics, besides causing a tremor for those who supported ban on construction of mosques minarets.
Streich propagated his anti-Islamic movement far and wide in the country, sowed seeds of indignation and scorn for Islam among the people, and paved way for public opinion against pulpits and minarets of mosques.
But now Streich has become a soldier of Islam. His anti-Islam thoughts finally brought him so close to this religion that he embraced Islam. He is ashamed of his doings now and desires to construct the most beautiful mosque of Europe in Switzerland.
The most interesting thing in this regard is that at present there are four mosques in Switzerland and Streich wants to lay the foundation for the fifth one. He wishes to seek absolution of his sin of proliferating venom against Islam. He is thinking of a movement contrary to his previous one to promote religious tolerance and peaceful cooperative living, in spite of the fact that ban on mosques minarets has gained a legal status.
This is the greatest quality of Islam that it comes up with even greater vigour, when it is faced with confrontation.
Abdul Majeed Aldai, the president of OPI, an NGO, working for the welfare of Muslims, says that Europeans have a great desire to know about Islam. Some of them want to know about the relationship between Islam and terrorism; same was the case with Streich.
During his confrontation, Streich studied the Holy Quran and started understanding Islam.
He wished to be hard to Islam, but the outcome was otherwise. Aldai further says.
Recently the question of ban on minarets was put to voting in Switzerland, wherein the Swiss nationals gave the issue a legal status.

American Missionaries in Haiti arrested for kidnapping children

I hope one day christian groups will be banned from serving earthquake, hurricane, tsunami ect victims. We ALWAYS see issues rising when Christian groups try to "help".

PORT-AU-PRINCE (AFP) - Aid workers in Haiti reunited Tuesday with their families some of the 33 children that a US missionary group tried to sneak out of the shattered country without government authorization.

Justice officials said the 10 Americans behind the alleged abductions might have to be tried in the United States because of post-quake chaos which also led the government on Tuesday to delay legislative elections indefinitely.

"The parents now are coming to the village to reclaim their children," said Heather Paul, the CEO of SOS Children's Villages USA, the aid group now caring for the children.

"We already hear that many are saying that we (they) have parents," Paul told NBC.

The Haitian authorities are still questioning the five men and five women from the Idaho-based New Life Children's Refuge, who face possible charges of criminal conspiracy, kidnapping minors and child-trafficking.

Police seized the US nationals, along with two Haitians, as they tried to cross into the neighboring Dominican Republic late Friday with the children -- some babies as young as two months, others up to 12 years old.

The Haitian prosecutor handling the case, Mazar Fortil, would not say when charges might be brought but confirmed that the problem in finding a Creole interpreter, which had delayed proceedings on Monday, had been resolved.

"The charges will not come until after the end of interviews," he said.

The abduction controversy has overshadowed the ongoing massive international relief effort still struggling to feed, house and care for an estimated one million homeless Haitians.

Three weeks after the 7.0-magnitude quake killed 170,000 people, flattening the capital Port-au-Prince, many survivors are still gasping for food, water, shelter, security and medical help.

Hundreds mourn at Haiti mass grave

UN officials said nearly half a million people had fled Port-au-Prince for the countryside since the quake, doubling a previous estimate of 235,000.

The UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said 90 percent were staying with relatives, but the prices of basic commodities such as rice and sugar were rising and medical centers were short of supplies and equipment.

Amidst the chaos, the electoral council announced on Tuesday that the legislative elections, set for two rounds on February 28 and March 3, had been postponed "to a later unspecified date."

Gervais Charles, president of the Port-au-Prince Bar, said the nation's justice system had been crippled by the January 12 quake and would struggle to cope with a high-profile abduction trial.

"We have lost the foundations of our justice system. It is a very difficult moment for us, as we have no idea how we are going to rebuild," Charles said as he joined colleagues in a ceremony for colleagues killed by the quake.

"In the current situation, in and such a case, we need a quick trial. But in the current conditions that is practically impossible. So I would not rule out transferring the American citizens to America if the American system is competent, especially now that we have recovered the children."

Guetchine G. Ordalus, a member of the Haiti Bar Association, voiced his anger at the row.

"Our country has been destroyed by an earthquake, and is a nation known for its economic and social problems. But that doesn't mean that foreigners can come here and take children away so easily."

Laura Silsby, the detained head of New Life Children's Refuge, has insisted the group's aims were entirely altruistic.

"We came here literally to just help the children. Our intentions were good," she told AFP from police detention. "We wanted to help those who lost parents in the quake or were abandoned."

US consular officials visited the detained Americans and brought them food and insect repellent as relatives back in the United States expressed concerns about their treatment.

US State Department spokesman Philip Crowley said Washington would be guided by Haitian officials.

"Once we know the facts we'll determine what the appropriate course is, but the judgement is really up to the Haitian government," he said.

Meanwhile, stars including Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Wyclef Jean, Pink, Kanye West and Brian Wilson lent their voices to a charity remake of "We Are The World" in aid of the quake victims.

And in Britain, a charity single for Haiti had its first airplay, featuring the likes of Rod Stewart, Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue singing a new version of REM's "Everybody Hurts."
